A Crossroads in our Party

In 2011, the Texas GOP was unstoppable. Republicans held a supermajority in both houses, and Democrats were unable to rely on their usual schemes to stop Republican legislation from being passed into law.

Since then, our party has given up significant ground. Now, all Democrats need do to kill Republican legislation is to break quorum and leave the state. They routinely kill conservative bills on technicalities by manipulating the rules. And with only 86 out of 150 seats held in the Texas House, we are only eleven seats away from losing our majority.

If we don’t act soon, the future is bleak. But our party can win a supermajority once again. By building on recent successes and getting back to the business of recruiting conservative candidates and winning in November, we can get the party’s platform and legislative priorities passed into law.

To achieve this, our party needs a leader who has fought alongside grassroots conservatives and has the legislative expertise necessary to pass the GOP platform into law.

Getting the Texas GOP Back to Business

For nearly two decades, I have walked the halls of the Texas Capitol alongside grassroots GOP activists as a legislative and constitutional expert to help pass conservative priorities through both houses of the Texas Legislature. During that time, I’ve developed ideas of what works best for legislative implementation of the party platform.

As party chair, our campaign’s focus is to follow these best practices to get the party back to business. The job of the Texas Republican Party is simple and fourfold:

  1. Recruit strong, conservative candidates;

  2. Fundraise for their campaigns;

  3. Win in November; and

  4. Get the Texas GOP platform and legislative priorities passed into law.

By focusing on these four objectives, we will restore a conservative supermajority to the Texas legislature, upon which we will work tirelessly to pass our platform and legislative priorities into law.

Proven Track Record of Conservative Success

Having served as the Executive Director and General Counsel of the Texas Freedom Caucus, chief of staff in both the House and the Senate, and Director of Legislative Affairs at the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), I have worked with teams of grassroots leaders and legislators to pass:

  • Constitutional carry;

  • A ban on men participating in women’s sports;

  • A ban on CRT in public schools;

  • Religious freedom protections during declared disasters;

  • Election integrity reforms;

  • Property tax relief measures;

  • Pro-life legislation

Faith, Family, and the Constitution

I am an 8th generation Texan and my wife and I have been married for ten years. We met through the pro-life movement and have four children. We are parishioners at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Dripping Springs, and I run a small law practice serving clients in the Central Texas area.

I believe that if we as a party put God first, all else will fall in line. President John Adams had it right when he said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people, and it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” I have had the privilege of learning both about the U.S. and Texas Constitutions, teaching U.S. Constitutional Law to undergraduates and publishing various writings related to the Texas Constitution.

We must get back to our constitutional roots, and we must get our party back to business! Please join our team as we work to make that goal into a reality!

Sincerely,
